Junior Cycle
St. Francis College follows the Junior Cycle Programme as specified by the Department of Education and Skills. The Junior Cycle Programme replaces the Junior Certificate and has been implemented on a phased basis since 2014, with all subjects underway in 1st year from September 2019. Students study all subjects to completion for the three years of Junior Cycle.

Students are required to take seven subjects for the Leaving Certificate.

Subject groupings are designed according to the needs of the student year group before they enter Transition Year. Where possible we aim to give all students their first 4 choice subjects, However, this may not always be possible so we ask that 5 are selected. The core subjects are mandatory.
